Abstract:
This study aimed to find out the significant effect of using Flipped Classroom
Method on the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text by using
animation video as a media. This research was conducted at MTs. Babul ‘Ulum
Medan. In the academic year 2024 / 2025. This study is quantitative and was
conducted using an Quasi Experimental research design. The subject of the
research were consisted of 72 students of the 8th grade students at MTs. Babul
‘Ulum Medan were taken by using Random Sampling Technique, then divided in
two groups. Class VIII – A which consisted of 38 students as Control Group
taught by using conventional method and class VIII – B which consisted of 36
students as a Experimental Group taught by using Flipped Classroom Method
Assisted by Animation Video. The data was collected by using pre-test and post
test and than were analyzed by using t-test formula in the SPSS version 22
application. The result showed that the level of significance was 0.000 < 0.50 and
the difference between the post-test mean scores of the control and experimental
classes was 76.07 and 80.11. In accordance with the results of the analysis the Ha
(alternative hyphothesis) was approved and the (null hyphothesis) was disproved.
Therefore, result of this study was found that there is a significant effect of using
flipped classroom method assisted by animation video on the students’ reading
comprehension at MTs. Babul ‘Ulum Medan and Flipped Classroom Method is
more effective than convetional method
