This study dealt with the EFL students perspective and preference towards
hybrid learning over the post covid-19. The objective of this study is the 5th
semester and 7th semester students at University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera
Utara. As the data, mixed methods, namely descriptive qualitative methods and
quantitative methods are used in this study. The purpose of this research is
to investigate the perspective and the preference held by undergraduate
students studying English as a foreign language (EFL) towards the hybrid
learning as a learning method over the post covid-19 and to determine whether or
not there is a different perception between male and female students. As data
collection methodologies and instruments, the researchers utilized interviews with
a total of 10 questions and a questionnaire survey that contained 23 items. There
were a total of 50 EFL students who filled out the questionnaire survey, and there
were a total of 10 EFL students that took part in the interviews. SPSS 29.0 was
utilized to perform the data analysis. The results of this study indicate that
students have a favorable opinion on the utilization of hybrid learning as an
education as a learning method. The result also shows that male respondents tend
to enjoy hybrid learning more because the learning process is carried out calmly
so they are more focused, compared to female respondents who tend to prefer the
face-to-face learning process. Nonetheless, the difference identified between the
two groups was not significant. |
