Abstract:
This research aims to find out the significant effect of applying Inside-Outside
Circle strategy on the students‟ speaking achievement. The sample of this research
was 8
th grade of SMP Swasta Brigjend Katamso II at academic 2016/2017. It
consisted of 80 students. The method used experimental research which devided
into two groups namely experimental and control group. The instrument of this
research was oral test. Based on the oral test, the mean score of pre-test in
experimental group was 57.75 and the mean score of post-test in experimental
group was 84.62. Meanwhile, the mean score of pre-test in control group was
59.12 and the mean score of post-test in control group was 69.65. Therefore, the
result of T-test in this research was 24.42 and the T-table was 2,00 which used
level significance 0.05 with df = n-1 (80-1). Because t-test was higher than t-table
(24.42 > 2.00), it means that T-test > T-table. So the result of this research was
accepted (Ha). It is concluded that Applying Inside-Outside Circle Strategy
significant affect the students‟ achievement in speaking skill.
