dc.description.abstract The objective of this research were to find The Effect Of Applying Meaningful Intructional Design On The Students at SMP Muhammadiyah 07 Medan of The Academic Year 2016/2017. The population of this research was the VIII grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 07 Medan, with the total population were 120 students. The sample was devided into two group, the first group was experimental group taught by applying Meaningful Instructional Design who consisted of 18 students. The second group was taught by using Lecturing Method who consisted of 18 students. The sample used was cluster random sampling by administrating three steps; there were pre-test, treatment, post-test. Matching and fill in the blank test was the instrument used to get the data after analyzing the data, it was found that was higher than ; > ; or >1.68, at α = 0.05 and the degree freedom (df) 34. It means that students‟ result by Meaningful Instructional Design was higher than by using lecturing method the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected or the use of Mnemonic method was significantly more effective to increase the vocabulary than using Grammar Translation Method en_US
