Abstract:
This study deal with the effect of applying time token technique by using
documentary films amazing animals on students speaking achievement at eight
grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 03 Medan. This is an experimental research which
applied quantitative method. The object of this research were to find out the
students speaking achievement by applying time token technique and using
documentary films amazing animals as media. This research was conducted at
SMP Muhammadiyah 03 Medan, 2017/2018 academic year. The population of
this research consist of 60 students from VIII A and VIII B class. Total sampling
technique was applied to take the sample. The experimental group is class VIII A
was taught by applying time token technique by using documentary films amazing
animals and the control group is class VIII B was tough by applying direct
method. The instrument used in collecting tha data was oral test. The total items
of test 1 item. The finding show that Tobs > Ttable (4.06) is higer than t-table
(2.00) with the level of significance 0.05 and degree of freedom (df)= 58. It shows
that the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted. It means that applying time token
technique by using Documentary Films amazing animals as media on students
speaking achievement has significant effect on the students’ speaking
achievement
