Abstract:
This study deals with the effectiveness of making video as students task to
improve their ability in speaking English. The study using by Classroom Action
Researh (CAR), which consisted out four steps namely: planning, action,
observation and reflection. The subject of the study was the students of Senior
High School at class X-1 Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah in
academic year 2019/2020 which consisted of 20 students. The objective of this
study was to describe the effectiveness of making video to improve the students’
ability in speaking English. The instrument of collecting data were test,
observation sheet and diary notes. The result of data analysis that there was an
improvement on the students’ ability in speaking English each cycle. It was
showed from mean of pre-test was 69 with precentage 15%, post-test in cycle I
was 71 with precentage 55% and post-test in cycle II was 81 with precentage
95%, based on the result showed the students was improvement in speaking
ability through making video as students task. It means that the their ability in
speaking English through making video as students task improved.
