Abstract:
This study deals with Figurative Language of KPU’s slogan. It was aimed
at analyzing the types of figurative language and the semantics meaning contain in
KPU’s slogan. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research.
The results of the data show that there were 14 slogans contain figurative
language in KPU’S slogan in instagram. There were 20 types of figurative
language, there are 1 Repetition, 4 alliteration, 1 elipsis, 3 assonance, 1
synecdoche, 4 personification, 5 hyperbole, 1 metaphor and each semantic
meaning contained in the slogan. Hyperbole was one types of figurative language
most found in this research. Because, by exaggerating it was make the reader feel
interested in participating in the general elections. Aside from that found
figurative language functions used in the KPU’S slogan in google is to attract the
reader’s attention.
