Abstract:
The goals of this research was to review the many complaints of parents in
Tanjungbalai to explore the perceptions of parents regarding the challenges of
distance learning faced by their children during the corona virus outbreak in
Indonesia. Google forms were used to identify parents' perceptions and what
barriers existed during distance learning. Search keywords included distance
learning, parents, and barriers. Results: The study identified 30 parents of students
who had many barriers to online learning. These barriers reveal four basic themes:
(1) personal barriers (2) technical barriers (3) logistical barriers and (4) financial
barriers. Overall, parents are not confined to their daily routines during the
pandemic. They undertake the responsibility of assisting the school in teaching
students. Many parents face various kinds of obstacles in their efforts to help their
children learn remotely during the pandemic.
