Abstract:
Parking facilities are facilities that have an important role in supporting
community mobility. One of the parking facility infrastructures used as a place for
vehicles to stop to carry out activities at a certain time period is a parking space.
The purpose of the preliminary survey was to determine the data parameters to be
surveyed and the data collection method and the area where the survey was
conducted, namely at the Malahayati Islamic Hospital, Medan. The collection of
primary data for this study aims to obtain field data needed for further analysis.
Secondary data comes from related agencies. The peak accumulation of two
wheeled vehicle parking occurred on Monday, March 3, 2025, between 13.00 -
13.59, with a total of 170 vehicles. The parking capacity of two-wheeled vehicles
at RSI Malahayati Medan is 160 vehicles. The total area of two-wheeled vehicle
parking is 240 m², with a parking lot size of 2.00 x 0.75 m. It can be seen from the
comparison of vehicle parking areas based on maximum accumulation, the need
for a parking area of 255 m² is greater than the total parking area available, which
is 240 m². The highest parking duration is on Monday, which is 2.44 hours. From
the data, it is known that the average value of the parking index for two-wheeled
vehicles at RSI. Malahayati is 7.77%. Based on the results and analysis of the
evaluation of parking space needs at RSI Malahayati, the researcher draws the
following conclusions: Based on the area of the parking lot, the parking capacity
is 240 m². While the area of the parking lot needed is 255 m², it can be concluded
that the parking lot available at RSI Malahayati cannot accommodate existing
vehicles. Malahayati Islamic Hospital Medan requires a larger parking area to
accommodate visitor parking and parking of two-wheeled vehicles owned by
hospital staff. The average duration of two-wheeled vehicle parking at RSI
Malahayati is 2.03 hours. And the highest parking duration occurs on Monday,
which is 2.44 hours.
