dc.description.abstractThis study was aimed at analyzing of conflict and the process of how the conflict contained in the novel by John Green entitled The Fault in Our Stars. In this study the writer tried to explain how the conflict developed. Conflict was a very important element in literary work. Conflict would make the story more interesting, because the conflict was an aspect to develop the storyline so the script becomes more amusing. In order to discover the answer, the researcher tried so formulate the problem into two questions. (1) How are the main character’s internal conflicts describe in the novel of The Fault in Our Stars written by John Green,(2) How are the main character’s external conflict described in the novel of The Fault in Our Stars, (3) What is the dominant type of the main character in The Fault in Our Stars novel. The reseacher applied objective approach. There were two conflicts which are internal conflict and external conflict. Internal conflict is a conflict between individual with himself and external conflict is a conflict among individual with another character, nature, society, supernatural, and destiny.en_US
