dc.description.abstract The objective of this research was investigate the significant effect of using Mind Mapping Technique on the Students’ Achievement in Writing Persuasive Paragraph to X grade students of SMK PAB 2 Helvetia Medan at Jalan Veteran psr IV Helvetia, KecamatanLabuhan Deli, Kabupaten Deli Serdang 2016/2017 academic year. This research used the experimental research. The population of this research was 137 students of X AK1 , X AK2 , X AK3 , X AK4 , X AK5 . The sample was taken by random sampling technique, the researcher took X AK1 and X AK2 as the sample. Thus, the total of sample were 51 students’. The sample was divided into two groups namely experimental group which consist of 24 students and control group which consist of 27 students. The experimental group was taught by using Mind Mapping Technique, while the control group was taught by using lecture method. The instrument in collecting data was collected by using written test about persuasive paragraph and scoring the students’ answer sheet based on five indicators in scoring written test. After the data has been collected, they were analyzed by using t- test. The result showed that tc= 17.5 was higher than tt = 1.68. The level of significance was 0.05 for two t-test ( 17.5 > 1.68 ). Based on the result of the analysis, the alternative hypothesis ( Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis ( H0 ) was rejected. Therefore, it was found that Mind Mapping technique significantly effects to the students’ achievement in persuasive paragraph. en_US
