This study deals with the effect of using visualization strategy on the students’
achievement in reading comprehension. The objective of the study was to
investigate the effect of using visualization strategy on the students’ achievement
in reading comprehension. The study applied the experimental research method.
The population of this research was the second grade of MTs Babul Ulum Medan
at academic year 2017/2018. The total number of population and sample were 71
students, consisted of two classes. They are VIII-1, VIII-2. The research class was
devided into two classes, Experimental Class (36 students) and Control Class (35
students). The instrument of collecting data was written test of reading test which
was administrated to the students. The multiple choice test was made by the
teacher. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. After analyzing the data,
it was found that t-observed (5.8) which was greater than t-table (1.8) with the
significant level ɑ = 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) = 69. The finding showed
that the hypothesis of the study was accepted. It means that using Visualization
Strategy was significantly effective to the students’ achievement in reading
comprehension. |
