dc.description.abstract This study deals with the directive speech act in the movie Beauty and The Beast. The objectives of this study were to describe the types of directive speech act which were used in the movie Beauty and The Beast to explain how directive speech act were used in the movie of Beauty and The Beast. The research used descriptive qualitative method. The data was taken from the script of the movie. Based on the result of the directive speech act in the movie Beauty and The Beast, it was found 68 occurrences of the three types of directive spech act in this research, they were 26 command act occurrences, 22 request act occurrences and 20 suggestion act occurrences. And the most dominant of the data was found 26 occurences in command act. en_US
