The objective of the research was to find out the effect of applying brainwriting
strategy on the students’ achievement in writing narrative text and to find out the
students’ difficulties in writing narrative text by applying brainwriting strategy. The
population of this research was tenth grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 09
Medan at academeic year 2017/2018, which the total of population was 55 students
which was distributed in two classes X TSM 1 and X TSM 2. The sample was 55
students. The were: experimental group was given treatment by applying brainwriting
strategy and control group used direct method. The research was conducted by using
an experimental research design. The experimental group was given pre-test,
treatment and post-test and the control group was given pre-test and pot-test. The
intrument of the research was written test, which was given in pre-test and post-test.
The result of this research showed the t-observe value was higher than t-table
(2,66>1,67) in which tobserve>ttable. The hypothesis alternative was accepted. It means
that there is a significant effect of applying brainwriting strategy on the students’
achievement in writing narrative text. |
