dc.description.abstract This study dealt with the implementation of IEPC (Imagine, Elaborate, Predict, Confirm) strategy to improve students’ achievement in reading comprehension. This study was conducted at SMK TI Harapan Mekar 1 Medan on Jalan Marelan Raya no.77 Medan in tenth grade. The number of subject were 32 students. The method of research applied classroom action research. It was applied to figure out the student’s activity during the implementation of IEPC strategy in reading comprehension and to figure out the improvement of the student’s achievement in reading comprehension by applying IEPC strategy. The instruments of this research were reading comprehension test and observation sheet which consisted of 10 multiple choices. The researcher conducted two cycle in this research, there were two meetings in cycle 1 and two meetings in cycle 2. This research used quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data showed that the mean score in cycle 1 was 69.37%, the mean score in cycle 2 was 86.25%, the students who got score more than 75 in cycle 1 was 15 and the percentage was 46.87%, the students who got score more than 75 in cycle 2 was 32 students and the percentage was 100%. The qualitative data got from observation sheet in every cycle showed that th improvement of teacher and students’ behaviour. Based on the results from quantitative and qualitative data proved that IEPC strategy improved the students’ achievement in reading comprehension en_US
