dc.description.abstract Hena Mulyani Siregar 1302050080: “The Effect of Using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy on students’ achievement in Reading Comprehension”: Skiripsi English Education Program of the faculty of the Teachers’ Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. Medan. 2016. The objective of this research was to find out the significant effect of using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy on students’ achievement in Reading Comprehension. The population of this research was 162 students of YP. Bina Satria medan Marelan academic year 2016-2017. The Researcher was taken the sample by of sample was 81 then was devided in two groups. Class VIII-1 which consist of 40 students as Experimental group taught by using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy and class VIII-2 which consist of 41 students as control group taught by using Lecturing method. The research design was Experimental research. The instrument used in this research was multiple choices with 20 questions. The data were analyzed by using t- test formula. The result showed that tc=26,14 was higher that tt = 1,98. The level of significance was 0,05 for two t-test (26.14>1,98). Based on the result of the analysis, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that by using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy given significant effect in increasing the students’ achievement in reading. The effect of using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy on students’ achievement in reading comprehension was higher than those students’ thought without strategy for 94,09 . So, the finding of the study indicated that students’ achievement in teaching recount text by using Question Answer Realationship Strategy was more significant. en_US
