dc.description.abstract | Training and Education. University Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. 2024. The research aims to analysis of stylistics elements of Book Lovers novel by Emily Henry. The objectives of the study were to describe the types of figurative language, the dominant types of figurative language and the reasons why it has become the dominant type of figurative language. The data of the research was obtained from Book Lovers novel by Emily Henry, it published by Berkley, New York, 2022. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data resources of this research were the novel “Book Lovers” by Emily Henry which was published in 2022 and some journals were used to analyze and support this research. In collecting the data, the researcher used note taking as the data. The researcher used Perrine’s theory to analyze the figure of speech contained in the novel. In this research, the researcher found that there are seven types of figure of speech found in the novel “Book Lovers” by Emily Henry. They are metaphor, simile, personification, metonymy, repetition, hyperbole and rhetorical question. The most dominant type of figure of speech used in the novel is simile, it appears 115 times, and the less type of figure of speech used in the novel is metonymy and repetition the researcher only found out one from all the data. | en_US |
