dc.description.abstract This study was aimed to find out the types of contraction in TikTok Comment Text. There were four types of contraction is abbreviation, initialsm, shortening, and acronym To analyze types of contraction used by TikTok user in comment section, to investigate how TikTok users used contractions in the comments section of TikTok, and to explain the reason of people who use contraction in TikTok.The findings of this research is expected to increase knowledge about the use of contraction in communication and the most frequent contraction used in TikTok. Contraction use theory from Abdujalilova Shoyista Baxodirovna. In analyzing those data, Creswell (2014) the researcher observations, qualitative interviews, qualitative documents, and qualitative audio and visual materials. The data from 10 Official accounts in TikTok user, and the give the questioners for the reasons to 10 TikTok users in TikTok Comment section. The use of contraction is used many things in comments section, all types of contractions are used and give to think out some new words or new dictionaries. For TikTok users, this research is recommended to be used more often and to know consciously what contractions are used and as a new language in the world of social media or online. And it is recommended to use contraction wisely in the context of interaction so that there are no misunderstandings between users during communication. For readers, this research is recommended to better understand the various types of contractions to make it easier to communicate online. en_US
