dc.description.abstract This research deals with the speech act which is mainly aimed to investigate the use of speech acts by Rocky Gerung on video presidential candidate debate at Cable News Network. This research was applied by qualitative method. The results presented in form of description the findings and the reseacher make accurate explanation about the analysis that found in the research. The researcher found 28 speech acts and 3 types of speech act by Rocky Gerung on video presidential candidate debate at Cable News Network with the duration 1 hour 5 minutes. The dominant types of speech acts that found by Rocky Gerung on video presidential candidate debate at Cable News Network were Directive acts and representatives act however expressives and commisives act was not found. en_US
