Abstract:
This study aims to determine the effect of duck manure fertilizer and
kascing fertilizer on the growth and production of watermelon plants. This
research uses Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) Factorial with 2 factors,
namely duck fertilizer (B) with 4 levels, B0 (No treatment), B1 (7.2 Kg / plot), B2
(14,4 Kg Plot) and B3 (21.6 Kg / plot) The second factor is the application of
Kascing (K) fertilizer with 4 levels, ie K0 (Without treatment), K1 (120 g / plant),
K2 (240 g / plant) and K3 (360 g / plant). The measured variables are plant length
(cm), number of leaves (pieces), number of flowers (flower), percentage of flower
into fruit (fruit), flowering age, harvest age (hst), number of fruit per plot (fruit)
Weight of fruit per plot (kg), fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit thickness
(cm), peel fruit thickness (cm), and TSS brix.
The results of this study showed that the provision of Duck Fertilizer gave
significant effect on plant length variables, number of leaves, number of flowers,
percentage of flowers into fruit, flowering age, harvest age, and fruit weight per
plot. However, there was no significant effect on the number of fruit per plot, fruit
length, fruit diameter, fruit thickness, peel fruit thickness and TSS brix content.
The best treatment of duck manure is 21.6 Kg / plot. Kascing fertilizer gives a real
effect on the parameter of the number of leaves, the number of flowers, the
percentage of flowers into fruit, the age of flowering. However, no significant
effect on plant length variables, harvest age, number of fruits per plot, fruit weight
per plot, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit thickness, fruit skin thickness, and TSS
brix content. The best treatment of kascing fertilizer is 360 g / plant. The
interaction of duck fertilizer and kascing fertilizer gave significant effect on the
parameter of the amount of interest at the age of 5 and 6 MST, the percentage of
the flowers into fruit, the age of flowering. While in plant length variables,
number of leaves, number of fruits per plot, fruit weight per plot, fruit length, fruit
diameter, watermelon fruit thickness, peel of watermelon thickness and TSS brix
content gave no significant effect
