dc.description.abstractThe study deals with the study of “Deixis in the article of Jakarta Post”. This study attempts to answer the two formulation of the problems, namely: (1) what types of deixis are used in the article of the jakarta post, and (2) how are types of deixis used in the article of jakarta post. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data in form of document from political articles containing deixis used in the Jakarta Post. Later the analyzing of the data started from reading the article of jakarta post and then selecting and marking the utterances that can be identified as deixis. The result shown in the article of jakarta post dated on 19 sept 2017 used all types of deixis: Person Deixis 42 (26.41%), Place Deixis 9 (5.66%), Time Deixis 15 (9.43%), Discourse Deixis 32 (20.12%) and Social Deixis 61 (38.36%). The researcher suggests the next researcher develop this research by using different object such as novel, speech and also daily conversation.en_US
