dc.description.abstractThis research was aimed to find out Semantic Webbing strategy of the students’ reading comprehension ability. The population of this research was eight grade at Yayasan Pesantren Modern Adnan Medan at Academic Year 2016/2017. It consisted of two class including experimental group was 25 students and control group was 25 students as respondents. The objective was to discover the significant improvement of the students’ reading comprehension if the students were taught by Using Semantic Webbing strategy. This research conducted by using Quantitative research . The instrument of this research was test including pre-test and post-test. In the pre-test mean score of experimental group was 50. In the post-test the mean score was 85,6. Meanwhile, in pre-test, students’ score of control group was 63,2. And in the post-test, the students’ score control group was 82,8. Thus, the t- test in this research was 9.19 and the t-table was 2.01 which used 0.05 as the significant level of this research. Because the t-test value is higher than the t-table (9,19>2,01) so, the result of this research was Ha is accepted. In other words, the result of this research, it can be concluded that Semantic Webbing strategy can effect students’ reading comprehension. Indeed, it is recommended for teachers to apply this strategy in teaching English, especially in teaching reading.en_US
