Abstract: This thesis entitled The Translation of Figurative Language in The Fault in Our Stars Movie. The purpose of this study is to find out 1) to discover the translation of figurative language in The Fault in Our Stars movie especially simile and personification. 2) to find out types of figurative language in The Fault in Our Stars movie. The source of the data are dialogue between four characters in The Fault in Our Stars movie was take from script of The Fault in Our Stars movie. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The technique of collecting data was documentary sheet. The data were analyzed using Cresswel model. The technique of analyzing data were watching the movie with subtitle english and indonesia, identifying figurative language also used an unofficial script from www.srcipts.com and the researcher underlined the figurative language, classifying figurative language used in the movie especially simile and personification, analyzing the figurative language and the translation by using theory of Larson (1984), checking the data and make sure the data was correct and validating the data. The finding showed that 1) the procedures that used by translator to translate figurative language are translating the figurative language in TL without reducing any meaning feature. 2) there were 21 data of figurative language found in The Fault in Our Stars movie, specifically 4 sentences (19.04%) for simile, and 2 sentences (9.52%) for personification.
