dc.description.abstractThis study deals with the Feature News in The Jakarta Post. The Objective of the research was to investigates the type of feature news and to find out the most dominantly types of feature int the Jakarta Post. There are five types of feature news. The scope is limited to the feature column in the Jakarta Post that published from Nopember 2017 up to January 2018. Feature column published from monday until friday. There are more than 60 of features that published from the that time. random sample was used in the research and taken 20% from 60 features were taken as sample around 12 text. According Douglas and Bruce (2003:127), that is : personality profiles, human interest, Trend Stories, In depth Stories, Backgrounders. Descriptive qualitative method was apllied to collect and to analyze the data to determined the dominant of feature. From the data analysis, the researcher found the that is type of featurenwhich being the dominant was in Depth Stories with 41.67%. The it is followes by Trend Stories 33.33%, personality Profile 0%, Backgrounders with 8.33% and the last Human Interest with 16.67%.en_US
