dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research were to find out the effect of index card match technique to the students achievement in learning reading comprehension and to know the students difficulties in reading comprehension by using index card match technique. The population of this research was the X grade the students of SMA NEGERI 1 KUALA, with the total population were 252 students. There were 72 students as the sample that were divided into two classes, for the experimental class X- mia 2 consisted of 36 students and for control class X-mia 3 consisted of 36 students. The sample used was random sampling. The instruments for collecting data in this research was compliment in collected data, pre-test and post-test conducted in both, experimental and control group. The students had been given the test which consist of 10 multiple choice. In this research, the researcher conducted a quantitative and qualitative research. The finding showed that the students who taught by using Index Card Match Technique got better score than those who taught by using conventional Method. From this research, it was found that by using Index Card Match Technique could cause positive effect of to the student achievement in learning reading comprehension, which was proven from the result of analysis showed that 𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑑 was higher than π‘‘π‘‘π‘Žπ‘π‘™π‘’, 𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑑 > π‘‘π‘‘π‘Žπ‘π‘™π‘’ or 8.49 > 1.99 at Ξ± = 0.05 and the degree freedom (df) 70 it’s means that Ha was accepted. The students nearly have no difficulties. It is fact that in attitude assessment maximum score care was 180 the students had 158, respect was 180 the students had 155, team work was 180 the students had 152, selfconfident was 180 the students had 154, and responsibility was 180 the students had 149.
