dc.description.abstractThis study deals with The Effect of Applying Inquiry Learning Model by Using Talking Stick to students’Achievement on English Speaking Skill. The objectives of the research was to investigate the effect of applying Inquiry Learning Model by Using Talking Stick to Students’ Achievement on English Speaking Skill. This research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 58 at Jl. Denai Gg Dua No.16 Kel. Tegal Sari Sukaramai Medan at academic year 2017/2018. The total number of population and sample were 48 students consisted of two clases. They are IXA, IXB. The classes were devided into two classes, Experimental Class (23 students) and Control Class (25 students). The instrument of collecting data was speaking test which was administrated to the students. The multiple choice test made by the researcher. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. After analyzing the data, it was found that t-obserbved (4.85) which greater than t-table (4.08) with the significant level = 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) = 46. The finding showed that the hypothesis of the study was accepted. It means that using Talking Stick technique was significantly effective to the students’ achievement in speaking skill.en_US
