Abstract: This study deals with Improving Students‘ Speaking Skill Through Communicative Language Teaching Method at SMP Asuhan Jaya Medan. The objectives of the study was to investigae the students students‘ speaking improvement by applying communicative language teaching method at SMP Asuhan Jaya Medan. This research was conducted at SMP Asuhan Jaya on Jl. Kayu Putih, Tj. Mulia Hilir, Medan Deli, Kota Medan,Sumatera Utara 20241 for the students of second grade of Junior High School with 30 students. The research found that most of the students are weak in speaking English. From the research result, it was found that there was an important on the students speaking skill by using Communicative Language Teaching Method. The research was conducted at SMP Asuhan Jya of second grade consisted of 30 students as the subject and thus school located at Jl. Kayu Putih, Tj. Mulia Hilir, Medan Deli, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara 20241. The result of the research was shown that the Communicative Language Teaching Method was significantly affected on the students‘ speaking achievement. It was clearlely seen from the students‘ score mean of the pre-test in the first meeting was still low (62) by which 8 students got point up to 75. In post-test of cycle II 21 students got higher than 75. It could be concluded as the following there was an improvement on the students speaking skill when they were taught by using communicative language. Those conditionshowed that the implementation of using communicative language in improving the stduents speaking skill was successful.
