dc.description.abstract | his research dealt with dysphemism in the novel “Never Let Me Go” and it was aimed to investigate the types of dysphemism that found in the novel and to describe the use of types dysphemism expression in the novel. This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research a novel “Never Let Me Go” and its data was the selected words by which taken from the script of the novel. After collecting the data it was found that ther were 4 types of dysphemism namely synecdoche, dysphemistic epithets, name dysphemism, and cross-cultural dysphemism. In the novel dysphemism is used to insult someone he does not like. However, the function of dysphemism in this novel is used to increase the aesthetic value in literature work, attract readers’ interest and strengthen the meaning from every sentence. And finally it was also concluded that the dominant types of dysphemism inside the novel “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro was synecdoche | en_US |
