dc.description.abstractThis study analyzed the contextual meaning on the idiomatic expressions found in The Adventure of Tintin script movie as an object of the study. The researcher attempted to answer the two research questions, they are: What types of idioms are found in The Adventure of Tintin script movie? And why the contextual meaning needed to interpret idiomatic expression in The Adventure of Tintin script movie?. It applied descriptive qualitative research. The data were taken from the adventure of tintin script movie. There were 6 types of idiomatic expression and after analyzing the script it was found that totally thre were 55 idioms which contained contextual meaning:phrasal verb 9 times,prepositional phrase 1 times,idiom with verb 14 times,idiom with noun 11 times and idiomatic pairs 20 timesen_US
