dc.description.abstractThis study deals with Flouting maxim in Daddy’s Home movie. The objectives of this study were to find out the types of flouting maxim in the movie, the most dominant type of flouting maxim , and the reason of flouting maxim found in the movie. Descriptive qualitative method was applied in this study. The data was collected by browsing the movie, downloading the movie, watching the movie trancribing the script and the underlining the dialogues. After analyzing the data, there were four types of maxim used in that movie. they were flouting maxim of quantity, flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of relation and flouting maxim of manner and the most dominant type of flouting maxim in Daddy’s Home movie was flouting maxim of relation with realtion (34.2%) while flouting maxim of quantity (17.2%), flouting maxim of quality (30%), and flouting maxim of manner (18.7%). The relation between the movie with the Rahardi’s theory was most of the dialogues between the speaker and the listener was unclearly. The listener did not give relavance contribution to the speakeren_US
