Abstract: This research dealt with The Effect of Applying Contextualization on The Students’ Writing Achievement in Argumentative Text especially argumentative text. The objectiveof the research was to find the effect of applying contextualization on the students’ writing achievement in argumentative text. This research was conducted atSMK SWASTA MANDIRI MEDAN ESTATE, Jl. Datuk Kabu No.99 Medan Tembung, Sumatera Utara of 2018/2019 academic year. The population of this research wasthe XI grade students’ with total300 students’which consists of 13 classes.By using Cluster Random Sampling it was choosen 2 clases; XI-3 TSM (23) and XI-2 TKJ 26. XI-2 TKJ class was Experimental class taught by Contextualization Model and class XI-3 TSM class was Control class taught by Conventional Way Strategy. Making the Argument or Giving the Opinion test were administered to the students. The researcher gave a pre-test, treatment and post-test to both groups. Havingcollected the data by using T-test formula, the result showed that t-test was 1.04 and t-table was 0.4906. The fact showed that t-test was greather than t-table
