dc.description.abstractThis research was aimed at finding out the improvement of the students’ achievement in reading comprehension by applying Start, Note, Identify, Plug, See (SNIPS) Strategy. The subject of this research was the X grade students of SMA YPK (Yayasan Pendidikan Keluarga) Medan at Academic Year 2019/2020. It consisted of one class with 26 students as the sample. The objective of this research was to discover the improvement of the students’ achievement in reading comprehension by applying Start, Note, Identify, Plug, See (SNIPS) Strategy. This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. The instruments of collecting data were observation sheet and tests. The result of data analysis showed that there was an improvement on the students’ reading achievement from each cycle. It was showed from the mean of the pre-test which was 40.3 with the percentage 19.2%. After SNIPS was applied in the first cycle, there was an improvement of the result of the students’ in reading comprehension. With the mean was 66.5 with the percentage 57.6%, it means that there was an improvement from pre-test to post-test was 38.4%. And for the second cycle after reflection on the first cycle, there was an improvement of the students’ mean which was 71.9 with the percentage 76.9%. The result showed that there was an improvement after applying Start, Note, Identify, Plug, See (SNIPS) Strategy.en_US
