Language In Transgender Community In Medan City

Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out the types of words formation in the language used by transgender community in Medan city and to find out the most dominant types of words formation in language in transgender. This research employs qualitative descriptive research method in which the researcher involves the key instrument the data from the very beginning up to the end of process of the study. The subject of this research is a member of transgender, the member of transgender is two persons, they aged 23 years old and can communicate by using transgender language. The result of the research is being the data 404 words. They areborrowing, coinage, blending, derivation, acronym, multiple process, reduplication, morphophonemic process, and irregular form its types of word formation in the language using by transgender. Borrowing is a dominant of word formation in this subject research with amount 164 words
