Abstract: Air pollution is increasing over time due to the high use of motorized vehicles, the population of which is increasing from year to year so that it can cause air pollution by 70 to 80%. The aim of this research is to reduce the level of exhaust emissions produced by motorized vehicles by modifying the exhaust gas channels, namely by modifying the inside of the exhaust using pipes made from recycled copper. This research compares the results of CO, HC and CO2 exhaust gas output from standard exhausts and modified exhausts with the addition of copper pipes with diameters of 44mm and 48mm. Exhaust gas emission testing uses a gas analyzer with an average engine speed of 4500 rpm with an engine temperature of 50˚C - 91˚C. The results showed that the exhaust gas emission value contained in the modified exhaust with the addition of a copper pipe with a diameter of 44mm when compared to the standard exhaust, the CO element at the 10th minute decreased to 99.75%, at the 20th minute it was 99.84%, at the 30th minute it decreased. 99.26%, the 40th minute decreased by 99.12%, the 50th minute decreased by 99.12%, and for the 60th minute the exhaust emissions decreased by 99.24% at 4500 rpm, HC increased by 98.3% , the 20th minute increased by 98.29%, while the 30th minute decreased by 99.27%, the 40th minute 99.09%, the 50th minute decreased 99.7%, and the 60th minute exhaust gas emissions decreased by 99.1 % at 4500 rpm. Thus it can be concluded that modifying the exhaust by adding copper pipes can reduce the level of exhaust emissions in motorized vehicles.
