Abstract: This study deals with the use of slang in the Jumanji movie. The meaning, type, and predominant type of slang used in Jumanji were the focus of this study. Jumanji movie script as the data source. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle movie was american fantasy adventure comedy. That movie was directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Chris Mckenna, Erik Sommers, Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner. It was released in December 2017. This research employs a descriptive qualitative design for its research design. Slang terms from the movie Jumanji were used in this study: utilizing slang-related dictionaries and theories. The analysis identifies five categories of slang, namely clipping, fresh and creative, flippant, imitative, and acronym. The slang word is then categorized and examined in the form of words and phrases. There are 54 expressions of fresh and creative, 5 words flippant, 7 words imitative, 3 words acronym, and 6 words clipping. Jumanji used a number of slang words and phrases, according to these findings Jumanji:Welcome to the Jungle movie used a variety of slang terms. and the most common form of slang used in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is Fresh and Creative 71.00%. The meaning slang in Jumanji mostly conceptual meaning. In the meantime, the reasons fresh and creative type most dominant using in jumanji movie because in the film mostly vocabulary to describe in casual setting. The following slang types and meanings can be better understood by foreign language learners, particularly English department students, through this study.
