Title: An Analysis of Tranlation Technique of Slang Language in Film

Abstract: This research attempted to find out 1) to find out types of slang language in Suicide Squad film, 2) to find out the reason used translation strategis in Suicide Squad film. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research. The source of the data was taken from https://subslikescript.com. The instrument for collecting data was documentary sheet. The data were analyzed used interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The finding showed that 1) there were 62 data of slang language in translation on Suicide Squad film. There are 5 types of slang language found in this film such as 3 (4.9%) for cockney, 13 (20.9%) for public house, 2 (3.2%) for work men, 43 (69.3%) for society, and 1 (1.7%) for theater slang. It could be concluded that types of slang language dominantly used by the translator in Suicide Squad film was society slang. It means that translator translated the text more familiar and naturally to target language so that easier the reader in understanding the meaning of the text and the reader felt as if they are reading the original text, and 2) the reasons dominant type used in the translation on Suicide Squad film were to make the reader achieve the goal of target language and making closeness in understanding the foreign text.
