Abstract: This research discusses about Donald Trump‟s speech about COVID-19. The objectives of this research were to find the types of speech style and the factors that influence Donald Trump to shift the style in his speech. This research used descriptive qualitative method to describe and analyze the data. The data were the utterances presented by Donald Trump. The technique of data analyzing was from the data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The research finding showed that there were 3 kinds of speech style, they are, formal style, casual style and consultative style. Meanwhile, frozen style and intimate style were not found in Donald Trump‟s speech. Found that formal style is the dominant style used in Donald Trump‟s speech. The factors that influence Donald Trump to shift the style are based on SPEAKING component. Setting and scene, participant, end and key are the factors that influence it. The researcher hopes this thesis could give contribution for the next researchers, the teachers and the students. Moreover, some recommendations are given to the next researchers who will do the same research on speech style
